 Our Five Senses: Recommended for children age 3 and older
Friday, April 10, 2020. 10:30 am - 11:00 am. The Betty Brinn Children's Museum's offers weekly programs for visitors, free with regular admission. In Our Five Senses, children can learn about how we communicate by exploring sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. Admission for the Betty Brinn Children's Museum is $9 per person; $8 for seniors (ages 55+); children age 1 and younger are free; out-of-state visitors will be charged $1 more per person.  Paint and Create Workshop
Friday, April 10, 2020. 11 am - 12 pm. Children can participate in a painting workshop at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum facilitated by guest makers from Stickman Painting Studio. Museum admission is not included in workshop fee. Price: $5 per registrant. Friday, April 10, 2020. 9 am - 5 pm. WaterStone Bank Day is a special day highlighting financial literacy at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. Children can explore the Museum's pretend WaterStone Bank exhibit and families will receive a take-home kit with pretend money and activities to do at the Museum and at home that promote good money management. Be transported for a sense of Paris this springtime through the remarkable work of five master printmakers - Jules Cheret, Alphonse Mucha, Eugene Grasset, Theophile Alexandre Steinlen, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec - which conveys the exuberance of the spirited Belle epoque era.  It's Like Poetry: Building A Toshiko Takaezu Archive at RAM
Friday, August 2, 2019 through Sunday, July 26, 2020. While unassuming in her disposition, artist Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) was a bona fide ceramic superstar who pushed the boundaries of clay in the late twentieth century. Inspired by nature and the environment, Takaezu created work that embodied a poetic balance between art and life. This exhibition in Racine Art Museum's Windows on Fifth Gallery features a selection from the more than 30 Takaezu works now in the museum's collection. This exhibition features the work of 12 artists-Sandra Byers, Gibson Byrd, John Colt, Theodore Czebotar, Lillian Elliott, Joseph Friebert, Ed Rossbach, Kay Sekimachi, Jean Stamsta, Merle Temkin, Murray Weiss, and Beatrice Wood-through multiple examples of their work. Arranged as a series of artist solo showcases, Open Storage also highlights the earliest kinds of work given to RAM-textiles and works on paper. Monday, May 15, 2017 through Thursday, May 15, 2031. Our May guest is Diane Hesselbein, Assembly District 79 Representative, and her main topic will be the state budget. Representative Hesselbein is sensitive to the needs of senior citizens. She serves on the Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs, and is Vice-Chair for the Speaker's Task Force on Alzheimer's and Dementia.  Third Annual Twin Triathlon
Saturday, August 26, 2017 through Tuesday, August 26, 2081. 8 am - 12 pm. 8 am registration; 9 am start; Noon Awards! Fun event is unique in the Northwoods-8K paddle on North Twin Lake, followed by a 16K bike ride, then a 5K run. Individual ($35), a family or a team ($90). Do one leg, or all three!
