 Creative Collages: Teen and Adult Workshop
Saturday, April 18, 2020. 10 am to noon and 2-5 pm. Melissa Sweet creates layers of meaning through mixed-media collage, pairing illustrations with text. During the workshop, Melissa helps participants navigate the process of combining ideas with sources of inspiration to create intriguing original artwork. Total fee: $65 for members; $85 for non-members; includes all materials and lunch. Registration is required, as spaces are limited. Payment is required upon registration to secure a spot.  Daisy Badge Workshop - What Robots Do, How Robots Move and Design a Robot
Saturday, April 18, 2020. 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm. The Betty Brinn Children's Museum offers many guided programs that help Girl Scouts meet STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art/design and math) badge requirements. Scouts attending the Daisy Badge workshop will earn 3 Robotics badges by designing and building their own robots. Participants will receive a Betty Brinn Children's Museum patch and certificate.  The Far-Out Prophecies of Nostradamus - Kanopy Dance and Are We Deli

In a landmark collaboration, Kanopy partners with Madison's own page-to-stage theater company, Are We Delicious? on an evening of short plays, musicals, and movement pieces based on the mysterious French astrologer, physician, and poet Nostradamus. The performers will create a powerful and passionate evening of witchcraft, superstition and prophecies. Composers Sean Michael Dargan, and Cat Capellaro and Andrew Rohn will set the tone with an original, psychedelic soundtrack. $35 Standard / $28 Student / $18 Age 18 and under.  It's Like Poetry: Building A Toshiko Takaezu Archive at RAM

While unassuming in her disposition, artist Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) was a bona fide ceramic superstar who pushed the boundaries of clay in the late twentieth century. Inspired by nature and the environment, Takaezu created work that embodied a poetic balance between art and life. This exhibition in Racine Art Museum's Windows on Fifth Gallery features a selection from the more than 30 Takaezu works now in the museum's collection.
