Saturday, June 27, 2020. 1:00-4:00 pm. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of nature and outdoor fun! Try your hand at tracking animals, honing your fishing skills, taking the eco-explorer challenge, matching young critters with their parents, and crafting original nature art. Everyone is invited to drop in for a few minutes or more than an hour. Adults are encouraged to participate with their children. Meet at the Long Lake Recreation Area South Beach.  New (Fiscal) Year's Eve Fundraiser featuring Fill Zeffiro and Marissa Mulder
Saturday, June 27, 2020. 6:30 pm. Our signature fundraising event returns for its fourth year! Join us for a night of live entertainment, food, drinks and fun to celebrate our 2019-2020 Season and the strides made to promote the arts in our community. Saturday, June 27, 2020. 10:00-11:00 am. Calling all youth to unravel the mysteries of nature by participating in the Wisconsin Explorers program! The program involves completing a required number of engaging nature activities in one of three age appropriate books (ages 3-5, ages 6-8, and ages 9+) to earn a very cool patch. A naturalist will guide youth in activities from the books. Meet at the picnic shelter at the Mauthe Lake Recreation Area, or the Long Lake Recreation Area. Wisconsin State Park Pass.  Wisconsin's Secretive Salamanders Summer Saturday Evening Event
Saturday, June 27, 2020. 6:30-8:30 pm. Tina Kroening, Conservation Biologist, will unearth the secrets of salamanders from their identification characteristics and incredible ecology to their conservation status in the state. After the inside presentation, we will head to the field for a chance to view them in their natural habitat and experience how biologists monitor, capture and identify salamanders. This program is most appropriate for people more than 8 years old. Meet at the Ice Age Visitor Center. Free.  It's Like Poetry: Building A Toshiko Takaezu Archive at RAM
Friday, August 2, 2019 through Sunday, July 26, 2020. While unassuming in her disposition, artist Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) was a bona fide ceramic superstar who pushed the boundaries of clay in the late twentieth century. Inspired by nature and the environment, Takaezu created work that embodied a poetic balance between art and life. This exhibition in Racine Art Museum's Windows on Fifth Gallery features a selection from the more than 30 Takaezu works now in the museum's collection. This exhibition features the work of 12 artists-Sandra Byers, Gibson Byrd, John Colt, Theodore Czebotar, Lillian Elliott, Joseph Friebert, Ed Rossbach, Kay Sekimachi, Jean Stamsta, Merle Temkin, Murray Weiss, and Beatrice Wood-through multiple examples of their work. Arranged as a series of artist solo showcases, Open Storage also highlights the earliest kinds of work given to RAM-textiles and works on paper.  Third Annual Twin Triathlon
Saturday, August 26, 2017 through Tuesday, August 26, 2081. 8 am - 12 pm. 8 am registration; 9 am start; Noon Awards! Fun event is unique in the Northwoods-8K paddle on North Twin Lake, followed by a 16K bike ride, then a 5K run. Individual ($35), a family or a team ($90). Do one leg, or all three!
