 Ice Age Legacy Exploring Nature Program
Saturday, January 11, 2020. 10:00-11:45 am. With leafless trees and snow covered hills, the glacial landforms pop on the landscape. We'll start at the Ice Age Visitor Center for an overview of our Ice Age legacy and then carpool to see the kames, drumlins, eskers, kettles and other landforms created by the glaciers.  Get Outdoors! Learn to Ice Fish
Friday, January 17, 2020. 12:30-2:30 p.m. the Mauthe Lake picnic shelter for a presentation on safety tips, and appropriate gear and tackle.  Candlelight Ski/Hike
Saturday, February 1, 2020. 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Cross-country ski or hike in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit by candlelight. At the bonfire join fellow hikers and skiers for hot drinks and snacks provided by the Friends of the Kettle Moraine. The trail is perfect for novice skiers with no steep hills or sharp turns. The Zillmer shelter building will be lit and heated. Trail passes waived for this event, but a Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required.  Snowshoe, Eat, Sled Exploring Nature Program
Saturday, February 8, 2020. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. After an overview of snowshoeing, we will head out for an invigorating snowshoe walk through the woods. Snowshoes provided for those who need them. Bring a quart of chili to add to the chili dump for lunch at noon. With warm, filled bellies, it's off to the hill for some sledding. Remember your favorite sleds or snow tubes. Saturday, April 25, 2020. 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day by helping give the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive and other forest locations a spring cleaning. Join others for a morning of camaraderie and litter pick up. Youth and other groups are encouraged to participate. Bring your own gloves. Garbage bags will be provided.
