 OutWiGo Snow! - Lapham Peak
Saturday, January 11, 2020. 12:00 pm - 4 pm. Join Wisconsin State Parks staff for OutWiGo Snow!, a winter recreation celebration. Bundle up with family and friends for an afternoon of cross-country skiing, fat-tire biking, snowshoeing, ice fishing and ice safety demos, sledding, s'mores and more! Cross-country ski, fat-tire bikes and snowshoe rentals will be available. Participants of all ages are welcome. Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker or day pass required for entry.  30th Annual Mosquito Hill Snowshoe Race
Saturday, January 25, 2020. 8:30 am. The 1-mile, 3-mile, and 5-mile race courses are located in our wooded, upland forest and prairie. The 800-meter course is a groomed trail near the lowland forest and tall grass prairie. Race fees include a long-sleeved race t-shirt, refreshments, a chili lunch, a Mosquito Hill goodie bag and admission to the Winter Family Fun Day event at 12:00 PM.  Candlelight Ski/Hike
Saturday, February 1, 2020. 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Cross-country ski or hike in the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit by candlelight. At the bonfire join fellow hikers and skiers for hot drinks and snacks provided by the Friends of the Kettle Moraine. The trail is perfect for novice skiers with no steep hills or sharp turns. The Zillmer shelter building will be lit and heated. Trail passes waived for this event, but a Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required. Saturday, February 8, 2020. 6:30 pm. Snowshoe with a naturalist to enjoy the night beauty of the forest and winter skies. Learn some snowshoe history, constellations, and folklore. The program is dependent on adequate snow cover; please call for conditions. The park will also be open for cross-country skiing this evening. Bring your own skis or rent a pair from the nature center (separate $6 rental fee). $6 snowshoe hike; $2 cross-country ski trail fee.  Snowshoe, Eat, Sled Exploring Nature Program
Saturday, February 8, 2020. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. After an overview of snowshoeing, we will head out for an invigorating snowshoe walk through the woods. Snowshoes provided for those who need them. Bring a quart of chili to add to the chili dump for lunch at noon. With warm, filled bellies, it's off to the hill for some sledding. Remember your favorite sleds or snow tubes.  Snowshoe and XC Ski Rental in the Park
Saturday, December 21, 2019 through Sunday, February 23, 2020. 8 am to 4 pm. Snowshoes and cross-country skis are available for individual day-use rental within the park when there is more than six inches of snow on the ground. Beginners welcome. Winter boots worn with snowshoes. Ski boot sizes European 36-49 and two sets of kids' boots/skis. Extra socks help with ski boot fitting.
